Upper School

Visual Arts

The Upper School Visual Arts Program curriculum introduces art theory and art techniques to students in grades 6th through 8th during a 12-week course that includes studio work.

As ninth graders, students can begin their journey in the study of art by choosing classes from a variety of concentrated twelve week courses. High school students can choose from a list of classes that includes Drawing, Art I, Graphic Art, Digital Photography, Art II, Painting and Art Appreciation. Students progress from learning to use the basic elements and principles of art to expand and develop skills in drawing, painting, design, color theory and 3-dimensional processes to advanced techniques, experimentation, and self-expression.

Advanced students are required to produce a portfolio of work and present select pieces in the annual Tipton-Rosemark Academy Art Show.
