Lower School

Elementary, Preschool and Kindergarten

The elementary students in PreK-5th grades are offered a strong academic program in an exciting, nurturing as well as Christian environment.  Each grade consists of two to three classrooms with availability determined by the grade level.  Our well-balanced, foundational curriculum includes classroom instruction in language arts, reading, mathematics, science, and social studies.  We are excited that our elementary students are part of our Apple One to One integration in which every student in grades 3rd through 12th has his/her own MacBook to use during class instruction. Students in 3K and 4K share iPads, while 5K-2nd graders receive their own iPads. The MacBooks and iPads are a valuable tool to use for practice, remediation, and enrichment.  Bible, art, music, library, Spanish, and physical education round out our students' educational experience. Christian values are incorporated into daily teaching and students worship in their own bi-monthly chapel service.

Early Childhood Education

Our three, four, and five year old Kindergarten programs include curriculum tailored to the specific needs of each age group. Our committed teachers stimulate thinking skills in a nurturing and playful environment. We believe that each child develops at his or her own rate. Therefore, we provide a variety of learning opportunities that appeal to different learning styles. Each teacher strives for her students to reach their potential while providing a safe, positive and nurturing learning environment. All programs are enhanced with the use of our 1-to-1 iPad program.

3 Year Old Kindergarten

This program helps our students obtain the academic and social skills they need to succeed as life-long learners. Our center-based classrooms promote hands on and interactive learning. We believe early childhood education should stimulate a student's creativity and exploration while intergrating age appropriate subject matter that includes phonological awareness, number concepts, and Biblical teachings. These students also attend music, art, library, Spanish, and physical education classes. This program has a 3-day option or a 5-day option, with the school day being from 8am-2:30pm.

4 Year Old Kindergarten

This program includes phonics, reading, writing, math, science, social studies, music, art, library, physical education, Spanish and Bible. Students are given many opportunities for writing, drawing, painting, listening, speaking and creative play. This program has a 3-day option or a 5-day option, with the school day being from 8am-2:30pm.

5 Year Old Kindergarten

This full 5-day program revolves around an accelerated curriculum covering the areas of phonics, reading, math, social studies, science, writing, Bible, music, art, library, Spanish, and physical education. Throughout the day, students are able to participate in enrichment activities through both small group and individualized instruction. Creative expression is encouraged in our curriculum because we believe that it is important for students to learn to properly communicate their ideas before reaching first grade.

Elementary STEM Labs

Science activities in the early grades are what lay the groundwork for student understanding in the subject. The NSTA says hands-on investigation through laboratory experimentation is the best way to introduce students to scientific inquiry, the process of asking questions and conducting experiments as a way to understand the natural world, which is the foundation of science education. STEM curriculum provides that problem based learning for our students. In our proposed elementary STEM lab, students grades 1-5 will have opportunities to be problem solvers, risk takers, critical thinkers and innovators by taking on real world problems. We also plan to incorporate field experiences each year by having industry partners and field experts work side by side with our lab teacher.
